On-Site Parenting Workshops

Fall Workshops

No More Diapers
Help your child make an easy and comfortable transition from diapers to the “potty.” Discussion will include information about signs of readiness, techniques for toilet training, accidents and other potential difficulties, nap and night training and ways to establish environments and routines that are helpful to children. The use of appropriate rewards and strategies will be shared along with what to expect at different stages in your child's progress.

Thursday, October 16, 6:00-7:30; Instructor: Lee Ann Slaton

Choking & Obstructed Airways

Positive Discipline for Young Children
Tired of nagging and yelling to get your child to behave? In this workshop, parents of children ages 6 months-5 years will learn simple, gentle discipline strategies that will teach children to cooperate, learn social skills (such as sharing,) reduce tantrums, and enhance their self-esteem and confidence.

Tuesday, October 28, 6:00-7:30; Instructor: Pnina Tobin

Handling Parent Anger
As parents of young children, we often find ourselves locked in power struggles over everyday situations or getting angry and not knowing how to act or how to channel our emotions appropriately. In this interactive workshop, parents learn to identify their own anger “triggers,” to express their anger constructively and safely, and to teach children the “angry rules.”

Tuesday, November 18, 6:00-7:30; Instructor: Pnina Tobin

Child Care

Child care is available for 2 years and up with pre-registration for parenting and caregiver workshops. For more information, inquire at the time of registration.
